Cast Iron Pan
Pans made of iron-carbon alloys with the carbon content exceeding 2%. Carbon content of industrial cast iron is generally 2% ~4%. Most carbon in the cast iron exists in graphite form and sometimes in cementite form. In addition to carbon, cast iron also contains 1% ~3% silicone, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements. Alloy cast iron also contains nickel, chromium, molybdenum, copper, boron, vanadium and other elements. Carbon and silicon are the main elements affecting the microstructure and properties of cast iron. Cast iron can be divided into: ① gray cast iron. Its carbon content is higher (2.7% to 4.0%) and carbon exists mainly in the form of flake graphite, its fracture turns gray, gray iron short. Low melting point (1145 ~ 1250 ℃), a small amount of shrinkage during solidification, its compressive strength and hardness are close to carbon steel, with a good shock absorption. Used for the manufacture of machine tool bed, cylinder stator, tank and other structures. ② White cast iron. Its carbon and silicon content is low. The carbon exists mainly in cementite forms and its fracture turns silver.
